The film is about a Carnegie Mellon English Professor (Dennis Quaid) whose wife’s death turns him into a bitter eccentric. He learns to reconnect with people after falling in-love with a Doctor and former student (Rachel Weisz) while also dealing with an unexpected visit from his adopted brother (Thomas Haden Church). The Head of the English Department's assistant will be played by Mary Steenburgen, wife of Ted Danson (CFA Alum) and his son is a student at Carnegie Mellon University as well (to be cast). The producer, Michael London, has recently produced Sideways, House of Sand and Fog, The Illusionist among other successful films.
